Communication skills typically fail when they're most needed when people get emotionally hijacked. Becoming more skillful with regard to intense emotions being triggered is a key to navigating relationships.
When emotions get stimulated, skills that we know intellectually but which haven't been well integrated go out the window -- we revert to old behaviors that may not serve us well. Participants will gain insight into how to relate to their emotions with more skill, grace and empowerment, particularly in the context of interacting with others. Participants will learn to find self-empowerment by take responsibility for their own emotions rather than blaming others. They'll learn skills for getting grounded and avoiding damaging relationships when intense emotions get stimulated. They'll also learn about the role of unresolved traumas, and how being aware of what's related to the past and what's related to the present can smooth the way for you and those you are relating to, and can also point the way towards healing and freedom.
