Virginia Practice Groups

Joining an NVC practice group is a highly effective way of deepening your practice of NVC, and is also likely to offer satisfying interpersonal connections. These practice groups are independently organized. Capital NVC is not responsible for their operation. Information on practice groups is provided here as a service to the community.

  • Arlington - Weekend Practice Group
    Virginia

    We meet the 2nd and 4th Sundays from 1:30-4 pm . We are currently meeting in Arlington in a room at Saint Georges Church, 915 N. Oakland St. half a block from the Virginia Square metro. We are an open group, but our meeting place is sometimes locked. Please call for the room number and to let us know you’re coming for the first time. Our usual format is a check-in, discussion of a chapter from the book Nonviolent Communication, and practice exercises.

  • Northern Virginia Practice Group

    2nd and 4th Wednesday evenings: 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.

    Oakton, Virginia

    This practice group, which has been meeting in the Oakton area for several years is open to new members. Group members spend their meeting exploring NVC themes. Some prior experience with NVC is requested: please call or email for information or with questions.

  • Occoquan/Lake Ridge Introductory Practice Group

    Exciting new group is now forming to begin meeting by 2nd week of January 2009, meeting in Lake Ridge/Occoquan, VA.

    Open to people who want to learn NVC, and people with NVC experience and wanting to expand your ability to speak compassionately. Will meeting on each Monday or Wednesday night work best for you?

  • Respectful Parents, Respectful Kids Thursday Evening and Friday Morning Practice Groups

    We meet twice monthly, on 1st and 3rd Thursdays from 7:30-9:30 pm and 1st and 3rd Fridays from 9:30 am-11:30 am in Reston, Virginia.

    Open Practice Group in Reston meets the 1st & 3rd Mondays at 7:15 PM.

    Welcoming, mixed experience level practice group has room for a few more people. Email Louisa Davis or call her at 703-860-1203 for more information. Louisa is a graduate of the BayNVC 08 NVC Leadership Program and Brooklyn NVC 09 Facilitating Change Program. Come join us!
