Maryland Practice Groups

Joining an NVC practice group is a highly effective way of deepening your practice of NVC, and is also likely to offer satisfying interpersonal connections. These practice groups are independently organized. Capital NVC is not responsible for their operation. Information on practice groups is provided here as a service to the community.

Every other Sunday evening, 5:30-7:30 pm
    at Salem Lutheran Church

Do you want a closer connection to the people you love? Would you like more harmony, ease and respect at work or at home? Would you like to create your life based on your values? If you answer yes to any of these questions, you might like to learn about Nonviolent Communication (NVC).

The Baltimore Nonviolent Communication Practice Group supports each other’s learning and practice of NVC by strengthening our ability to compassionately connect with ourselves and one another.

If you are interested in joining a small group of people who are cultivating Nonviolent Communication in Baltimore, please contact us or come to one of our meetings. We welcome people interested in learning more about how NVC can transform your personal and professional relationships. For answers to questions about the Baltimore group, please contact Christina Pham Linhoff at clin...@gmail.com, 410-458-2371.

    Friday Mornings, 10:30-12:30

A daytime Practice Group for those who want NVC learning, growth, connection and empathy—at a time that might better fit into their schedules. This is a “Deepening Skills” group, with some previous NVC experience requested.

This is an on-going group whose members commit to making ongoing attendance a priority over a period of time. The group has decided to 'stay small', so there is often a waiting list for prospective members.

Facilitated by Jeanne Marcus and Julia Jarvis. Contact: jdmarcus@comcast.net or juliajar@erols.com to register, to get more information, or for questions about experience requested.

    Tuesday nights, 7:30 pm - 9:30 p.m.

This is an open, drop-in group, currently meeting a few blocks from the Takoma Metro stop. Our usual format is to have short check-ins, then an NVC teaching piece for the whole group, and some time for work in pairs or triads, either empathy or practice related to the learning piece. We often use role plays or worksheets and also have used the Empathy Labyrinth and Dance Floors. Facilitated by Hally Childs and Kathy Carroll.
